What Happens at This Summer Riding Camp? Half Day
& Full Day Camps are offered. This quality educational camp features
horseback riding lessons for young riders at any skill level from first
time out to advanced levels of jumping. Sessions cover safety around
horses, basic riding skills, grooming and tacking up, veterinarian &
hoof care, equine nutrition and more! Classes are grouped according to
age and skill levels into small groups with qualified instructors and
well-trained horses.
The Half Day Camp:
This camp offers a special quality educational experience for juniors age
6 to 21. The entire morning is spent learning how to ride and care for
horses. Hiking & nature walks when time permits.
8:00 am to 12:00 noon
Fee: $200 per week
The
Full Day Camp: This camp offers a unique summertime learning experience for juniors age 6 to 21. They spend their mornings learning how to ride and care for horses. There is a "sack lunch" break & the afternoon is spent in instruction, the 2nd mounted lesson & occasional
cross country walks & equine videos.
8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Fee: $375 per week
Camp Enrollment Forms
When Can I Come to Camp?
Enrollment begins in April. Campers may sign up for
one or more weeks for either the HALF DAY or FULL DAY sessions. Riding
skills, horsemanship & the recreational lesson activities vary from
week to week allowing for enrollment throughout the summer without
repetition of lesson topics.
Can I bring my horse? Yes. Add $80 per session for your horse's board.
Briar Fox is A Premier Equestrian Center: The camper enjoys the day on a beautiful farm complete with wooded trails, meadows and cliffs along the Indianola River. You will have the opportunity to feed deer & enjoy the many small animals & fowl on the farm. Weather permitting, a trail ride or schooling show will be organized on Fridays. BFF is an active equestrian center with a viewing lounge, a 60' x 200' indoor sand arena (ride rain or shine), a 300' x 350' outdoor arena, 100+ acres of trails and a competition cross country jumping course.
