Sadie
:
She is better known as "Sweet Sadie" or "Saint Sadie". She is a 15.3 hand brown thoroughbred mare. With her glossy coat and girlish figure, one would not guess her to be an "older horse". Sadie will pack around the beginner child or school an intermediate rider over jumps and cross country fences. She is fond of talk breaks in lessons and looks forward to her treats.
Flakes
His nickname is "Cornflakes" and he is a 17 hand flea-bitten gray thoroughbred gelding in his teens. He teaches his riders to use their legs correctly and how to sit tall and balanced in the saddle. At times he can be pokey but wakes up when going over fences. Beware, he loves the mud and you may arrive to find him in his paddock "a horse of a different color"!
Splash
Also known as "Splashman". He is a 14.3 hand strawberry roan in his teens. His breed is uncertain, but most speculate an Arab/Paint mix. With his white socks, strawberry blonde mane and soft brown eyes; he is sure to steel your heart. He is a joy to ride with his three smooth gaits and ready to work attitude. His favorite past time is stopping by the instructor for a pet break.
Don
He is used only with very advanced riders. He is a German imported Hanoverian gelding standing 17.2 hands. He is finished with his training and competes at the Grand Prix level. Last year he helped two Briar Fox students earn a Gold Medal and a Bronze Medal. He is a gentle horse but not an easy ride if you want to be very correct in dressage. Students from as far away as Switzerland and France come to take lessons on him to further their riding skills. |
