Step-by-Step Dressage Clinic Slide Show
with German Trainer's Team Member Jochen Hippenstiel
Clinic provided by Briar Fox Farm in Fall 2003

Training Tips That Produce Results          1 of 10   > next

The Position of the Neck & Flexion is most important.

Training Tip #1:  Corrections are always made going forward; especially corrections in the halt.

Training Tip #2:  Do not look to the inside of the circle because your whole body will then become twisted.

"The horse has to be round and on-the-bit otherwise you are trail riding," says Jochen Hippenstiel.  He worked with rider Janice Miller on very accurate execution of the movements within the arena.  They also worked on leg yielding on the circle.  He cautioned Janice not to look to the inside of the circle because your whole body is then twisted.  Janice is from Edmond, OK and her horse Cash is a 6 year old bay QH gelding, 16 hands.
