Long Term and Well Established Reputation
in Buying and Selling Horses for Clients
We help our clients find top quality horses for their needs.
We have been doing so for over 25 years (27 years to be exact!).
We have a great deal of experience in helping our customers to
find the right horses. We have a long term, well
established reputation for honest representation and the
complete brokering of sale horses.
We can help you with ALL phases of buying a horse. We
start out working with your "profile of the desired horse".
From there we search through our local, regional and even
international prospects. GSHS will provide all budgets
with selection, help with transportation and if needed,
importation of top quality horses from all over the world. We
have assembled a highly skilled team of international equine
associates. We are professionals active in the horse industry.
Our expertise, resources and local connections in the US, Canada
and Europe offer you an affordable opportunity to preview
numerous quality horses. GSHS helps conclude your purchase and
then we make the arrangements for the transport of your special
horse.
We also prepare all the legal documents that will insure no
problems can occur later.
Please contact us if you are looking for a nice horse.
(See tab at top of page)
Our fees are 10% of the final purchase price of the horse.
If we travel with you to look at horses, you will assume
responsibility for all our travel expenses.
SHOPPING IN EUROPE
Why would anyone consider traveling to Europe to purchase a good
horse when there are good horses for sale here in the US?
Furthermore, the US dollar's exchange rate to the Euro is not as
good as it was in year's past. Those two statements are
TRUE. But consider these facts about those two statements.
Shopping in Europe versus Shopping in the
United States
The good horses for sale in the US are spread out all over our
vast country. You can get quite a bit of money into
traveling to view just 3 or 4 horses. When we take a
client to Europe to look at horses for sale we show them about
10+ horses that fit their profile per day all within a few
hundred miles of each other. The current (Feb. 2005) round
trip ticket from the Midwest to a central location (Geneva,
Swiss.) is $700 (depends on time of year but varies little).
It bears mentioning that there are MANY more well bred and well
trained horses in Europe than in the US. Generally, due to
that fact, the price tag on European horses is less than
in the US. Economists call it "supply and demand".
We can make arrangements for you to stay in the home of our
European associates without charge (breakfast included) further
keeping costs to a minimum. The current cost to import a
horse into the US is about $6000 now.
Just because the US dollar's exchange rate is
not as good as prior years does not mean you will pay more money
for a horse than you would pay here in the US. In fact,
due to the competitive pricing situations in Europe, you might
pay less (including your travel and import fees) than in the US
for a comparable horse.
We know which breeders, dealers and sellers
are honest and reliable. We can handle the veterinarian's
pre-purchase exam which incidentally is comparable costs to here
in the US. We also handle all the many details of
importing your horse safely right to your barn.
We also can help you make a correct decision
on whether or not the horse(s) are a match with you.
On March 23, 2005, Bonnie Griest will be going
to Europe and will be teaching dressage clinics at 3 barns in
Europe. During her stay there she will view and video
dressage and event horses that are for sale. She will also
do a lot of further "networking" to provide you with more
options for reasonable purchase of European horses.
If you would like to have her "look for" (at no charge to you) a
particular type of horse for you, give her a call at
316-775-5512 or email her at
